Katia Syros laceweight yarn

Katia Syros

Katia Syros is a lustrous laceweight yarn with beautiful drape and a subtle textured finish, perfect for crochet and knitted lace.  It's a blend of 45% polyester, 28% cotton and 27% acrylic, machine washable at 30'.  As with any lace yarn, the tension varies with the pattern, but 1.75mm crochet hook or 2-2.25mm needles are a starting point (US yarn weight system size 0, Lace). NB because of the synthetic content the fabric won't stretch like wool when blocking out so you might want to use larger needles to get the desired lacy effect - try knitting and blocking a swatch first!  280m/ 306 yds per 50g ball.
